GLAZINGS
MILKANA Ltd offers wholesale and retail trade of glass. We work with high quality glass of established manufacturers, some of which are: Saint-Gobain; AGC; Pilkington; Trakya Glass and others.
Types of glass
Float colorless: The most common type of glass. It is smooth, neutral transparent, without optical defects. Used in both interior and exterior. Available thicknesses: 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm.
Float colored volume: Available colors are: brown, dark green, light green, blue. Available in thickness of 4mm, but others may be supplied.
Sun controlling (Stopsol, Tentesol, Stopray, Cool-Lite): Thanks to its special coating this type of glass reflect up to two thirds of the heat of the solar spectrum, leaving the room cool without dimming it, ie they transfer maximum of the visible light but a minimum of heat. Available colors are: brown, green, blue.
Energy Saving: also called “low emission glass” (K-glass, G-glass, Top N, Low E, Planitherm Total +) are with hard and soft cover. The advantages of soft cover are the better insulation performance. The disadvantages are that before being enclosed in glazing, this glass requires special storage and specific processing. Its cover reflects the infrared emission from thermal sources (heating and household appliances, lighting, human body, etc.) back into the room, not allowing it to flow out. It also transmits and keeps the solar heat in the room. This way it stops the heat losses and the money spent for putting a quality glazing is recovered rapidly, as a result of the costs saved on heating. It significantly reduces the risk of condensation. To avoid overheating of the rooms during the summer, the low-emission glass must be combined in a multifunctional (4 seasonal) glazing or sun controlling glass.
Multifunctional (4 season) glass (Planitherm 4S, Planibel Top 1.0, Multifunctional Low E): These glasses are also low emission ones, but they combine excellent solar protection and very good heat insulation properties. They are called multiseasonal glasses because of their characteristic to provide comfort in all seasons. Their performance is much better than that of conventional energy-saving windows. They prevent the formation of condensation at highest level. There are available with soft and hard cover.
Laminated glass (Triplex) : Triplex is in the safety glass group. It consists of two sheets of glass, connected to each other by one or more layers of multicomponent resin, characterized by high adhesion, tensile strength and elasticity. This resin is transparent and does not affect the glass optical properties. In case of breaking it retains the sharp pieces in place. Therefore, the Triplex is widely used nowadays, both in the interior and the exterior, and is required for many public buildings and places with high risk of breaking. It’s resistant to burglary and storms and earthquakes. Besides protection, it has very good insulating properties. It can be made of different types of glass - low emission, colored, etc., as well as of clear glass with colored resin layer. Available in various configurations of thicknesses as the most common are 3/1/3, 4/1/4, 4/2/4 and 5/1/5. Tempered (toughened) glass: it’s also in the group of protective glass. The hardening is done as the float glass is heated above the hardening point of 600°C, then immediately cooled by air. All glass processing such as cutting, edging, and drilling were performed before that. It is 6 times stronger than the normal one and when it breaks it fractures into small and not sharp pieces. It withstands high temperatures. It is used for glass doors, windows, screens, shower cabins. Many types of glass can be hardened. Delivered by customer’s sizes.
Bulletproof glass: : on request
Interior glass
Ornamental: : We offer wide range of ordinary and special ornamental glass, colorless and brown. Their various combinations and their complementing with colored glass allow various aesthetic solutions. They trasmit light, but limit visibility.
Frosted: : There are two types of frosted glass, depending on the method of treatment: chemical frosting and mechanical frosting. In the chemical method, the float glass is processed with a specific acid to obtain a satin effect, and in the mechanical method this effect is achieved by sand blasting. Through the mechanical method, designer glasses by template can be made.
Varnished (Lacobel): colorless glass which is unilateral covered with high quality varnish. Used exclusively for interior use. The wide choice of colors makes it suitable for various design ideas - lining of walls, furniture doors, shelves, decoupage, doors, screens and more. We maintain available on stock the following colors - red, black, white, beige, gray, green, blue, orange. The thickness is 4 mm.
Glass with decorative foil: We fulfill orders for windows with decorative water and heat resistant foil. We have a catalogue of various sceneries, and fulfill orders by customer’s demands (various inscriptions, decorations, and logo).

MILKANA Ltd. manufactures a wide range of glazing. We have production workshop with advanced equipment, working with leading manufacturers of glass (Saint Gobain, AGC, Pilkington, Trakya Glass) and consumables (Den Braven, Kommerling) to offer the highest quality glazing.
To meet all requirements, we tested our products in the ndependent Italian laboratory “Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro”. The good test results give us the right to place the CE marking (mark of conformity to harmonized European standards) on our glazing.
We have built and operating system of quality control ISO 9001-2008.
The glazing can be in various configurations depending on the customer’s demand and on the desired effect. We will offer you the best options, both of aesthetic and practical points of view. It is not important how your windows will look, but also how they will perform its main function - to isolate you from the external environment.
We, in MILKANA, continuously invest in new technologies and strive to offer the latest trends in glazing. And the modern glazing is related to energy saving. Not only the type and thickness of glass is important, but also their combining in glazing. Important is also the number and size of the air chambers and their filling with a special inert gas which increases the insulating properties of the product.
In connection with energy saving, we also produce the so-called “hot end” glazing. There we use special SWISSPACER spacers of Sain-Gobain. Unlike traditional spacers, which are of aluminum, SWISSPACER are made of high quality plastic, which is a kind of thermal barrier between the separate glass panels in the window.
Since aluminum is a good conductor, it allows the transmittance of heat along the entire area of transition between the glass and the window frame. This leads to cooling of the inner surface of the glass along the edge, i.e., the edges become cold. If the surface temperature becomes lower than the temperature of dew point of the ambient air, condensation occurs. This is a problem that customers often complain of. Thanks to SWISSPACER, the heat transfer coefficient can be reduced by up to 0.3 W/m2K., i.e. higher temperatures at the edges of the glass are kept, which significantly reduces the risk of condensation and saves heating costs.
Energy Efficient MILKANA Glazings
MILKANA makes various combinations of glass and materials so that they are appropriate to the weather conditions and various exposures of facades to achieve maximum efficiency. We have developed three main classes of energy-saving glazing MILKANA ENERGY - I, II, III, as well as the option of energy saving and impact resistant glazing MILKANA ENERGY III – GUARD and MILKANA ENERGY II – SAFETY, which have energy saving and safety.
The safety glazing reduces the risk of injury from breakage.
Safety glass:
- Tempered (toughened)
- Laminated (triplex)
Protective glasses protect people and objects from external intrusion.
Safety glasses:
- Laminated glass (triplex)
Tempered (toughened) glass - tempering is done as the float glass is heated above the hardening point of 600°C, then immediately cooled by air. Laminated glass (Triplex) - Triplex is in the safety glass group. It consists of two sheets of glass, connected to each other by one or more layers of multicomponent resin (PVB - polyvinyl butyral), characterized by high adhesion, tensile strength and elasticity. This resin is transparent and does not affect the glass optical properties. In case of breaking it retains the sharp pieces in place. Therefore, the Triplex is widely used nowadays, both in the interior and the exterior, and is required for many public buildings and places with high risk of breaking. Thermal transmission (EN673-2011) |
1.0 W/m²K Thermal transmission |
- Heat Transfer Coefficient (Ug) – - indicates the amount of heat that passing per unit time through 1 square meter glazed surface at a temperature difference of 1K between the contacting with the room air glass and the one outside (Ug = W/m2/K). This is the most important technical feature of a glass pane. The lower the value, the smaller the heat losses are and the lower the heating costs.
- Solar Factor g (%) – the sum of the transferred directly energy and the part of the energy absorbed by the glass which is radiated from the glazing to the interior. The greater the direct reflection of solar energy from the glass is, the lower the solar factor is and the lower costs are for air conditioning during the summer months.
- Light Transmittance (%) ) – the passage of visible light (natural light). The lower value, the darker the room is.
- Reflectiveness (%) – the amount of the reflected from the glazing light. The greater the reflectance of the glass pane, the greater its mirror effect is.
